🕵️ What is this study about?
This study fills the gap in available data on total compensation for early-career professionals in European public affairs.
By collecting responses from professionals in the sector, we intend to establish a robust benchmark that actually empowers stakeholders in negotiations.
The study is intended for:
- Early-career professionals (approx. 18-35 yo)
- Working primarily in EU public affairs, government relations, or advocacy
- Willing to enhance transparency regarding compensation practices
🏴☠️ Independence
This initiative is conducted independently, in order to ensure the integrity, neutrality, and credibility of the results.
It is not commissioned, funded, or controlled by any employer, consultancy, recruitment firm, or commercial entity with a direct interest in compensation practices.

🙈 Data protection & confidentiality
This study is designed to comply with applicable EU data-protection rules, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Rémi Leturcq acts as the sole data controller for the processing of personal data collected through the questionnaires.
While no names or company affiliations are collected as part of the survey itself, responses are submitted together with an email address, which constitutes personal data under GDPR.
In addition, where users request access to the results or express interest in receiving them, additional contact details may be collected, such as first name, last name, and phone number.
The processing of personal data is based on your consent, which is given when you voluntarily participate in the survey, request access to its results, or express interest in receiving them.
Contact details provided for receiving information about the project are processed separately from survey responses and are not used to identify, attribute, or analyse individual contributions.
Once a response has been validated, the email address is kept separately from the validated survey response. The email address is not used to publish, attribute, or track individual contributions across survey waves.
Your email address, and where applicable any additional contact details provided, are used solely for follow-up purposes (e.g. confirmation, sharing results, clarifications, and recontacting participants in future editions of the study). They are stored securely with restricted access and will be retained for a period of 10 years for these purposes, in view of the long-term and recurring nature of the project.
The results of this survey may be used in public reports, presentations, or publications, including in partnership with professional or commercial actors.
No individual-level data (including emails) is disclosed to third parties for their own independent purposes, except where required by law. Personal data may, however, be processed by service providers acting on behalf of the controller.
